About the Event
WEBINAR DESCRIPTION:
It is undeniable that the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated and re-prioritized digital transformation in all sectors of society. Financial services, healthcare, education, and almost all forms of enterprises have digitized their operations and made work-from-home arrangements to adapt to the changing landscape to ensure business continuity. The public sector too has turned to technology and digital tools to deliver public services, highlighting the cross-cutting importance of digital services in our transformation to the new normal.
Essential to digital transformation is the continued development of the industries of telecommunications and Internet Service Providers in the country. The increasing demand for fast, reliable and stable bandwidth of internet has become even more essential now that we are faced with a pandemic. It is also a clear example of a challenge that needs the collective efforts of the public and private sectors to overcome.
For this reason, this event will also introduce a multi-sectoral initiative to keep watch on the development of digital infrastructure in the Philippines.
This program aims to gather various experts from public and private institutions to discuss both low hanging fruit and long-term plans that can lead to improvements in our country’s digital infrastructure and broadband service. Furthermore, the virtual town hall discussion aims to facilitate a progressive discourse on how we, through a whole-of-society approach, may further achieve a digitized and competitive Philippines that is fortified to traverse the global world post-pandemic.
