[ICCPI Supported Event] 2020 High-Level Dialogue on ASEAN Italy Economic Relations - 2nd Digital

On September 30, 2020, ICCPI once again supported the European House- Ambrosetti on its  Second Digital Round table on The High-Level Dialogue on ASEAN Italy Economic Relations which aimed to discuss Technologies for the future: boosting growth and prosperity in the post-Covid-19 era. The event featuring ASEAN Countries and European Chairmen and CEOs, Ministers, and Institution Leaders, is the acclaimed place of reference to strengthen economic ties between ASEAN countries and Italy.


The online event was chaired by Mr. Lorenzo Tavazzi, Partner and Responsible of International Development of The European House – Ambrosetti, who gave welcoming remarks together with the Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Economic Community, Aladdin D. Rillo.


This second webinar involved notable speakers such as Norhizam Ibrahim (Director of Advanced Technology and R&D, MIDA), Tan BC (Chairman, UBCT Industrial Solution), Bicky Bhangu (President South East Asia, Maily Anna Maria Nguyen (Representative in Europe and Switzerland, Becamex IDC Corp.; Responsible Desk Vietnam, Unioncamere Emilia-Romagna), Alberto Strada (Managing Director, Ducati Thailand).


ICCPI, represented by Mr. Ramon Abiera - ICFG Director & UAP Committee Chair on Urban Development, Green Building and Sustainability was the person invited to speak at the Second Digital Round table on High-Level Dialogue on ASEAN Italy Economic Relations.


Mr. Ramon Abiera who proudly represented the Philippines, spoke about Opportunities and Needs for the Development of Smart Infrastructures and Smart Cities during the panel discussion on Smart Manufacturing and Technologies for the Future: Opportunities in ASEAN. He highlighted the needs and opportunities for collaborative R&D in developing infrastructure and smart cities, he also showcased the current exemplary projects under Build Build Build Program of the Philippine administration and what is being done at the moment for building smart cities and bringing innovation to the sector. In addition, he also stated the current opportunities for foreign and Italian companies in the Philippines.


Additional speakers included MD Jani Md Dom (Director of Quality of Standards, Civil Aviation Authority-CAAM), Emanuele Lourier (Head of Sales Air & Land Systems Line of Business, Leonardo), Naguib Bin Mohd Nor (President of Malaysia Aerospace Industry Assocation - MAIA; CEO of Strand Aerospace Malaysia Sdn, Malaysia), Mohamed Sallauddin Mohamed Shah (General Manager of Aviation Marketing&Development, Malaysia Airport Berhad -MAHB)


The event was a success after series of high-level talks exchanged by prominent speakers who mainly represented each of their country's economic and technological growth, and what it can offer to support the socio-economic interests of its neighboring ASEAN countries and Italy.
