Stellantis said Wednesday that its board has "unanimously selected" Italian manager Antonio Filosa as its new CEO.

The top job at the Italian-French-American group had been vacant since Carlos Tavares quit in December.
Filosa had been the company's Chief Operating Officer for the Americas. Stellantis, whose brands include Jeep, Peugeot, Fiat, Lancia, Maserati, Alfa Romeo and Chrysler, said Filosa was selected "following a thorough search process of internal and external candidates.
"The Board selected Antonio Filosa to be CEO based on his proven track record of hands-on success during his more than 25 years in the automotive industry, the depth and span of his experience around the world, his unrivalled knowledge of the Company and his recognized leadership qualities," a statement said.
It said John Elkann will continue as chairman.
Stellantis has been struggling with falling sales and last month it said it was suspending its 2025 earnings forecast because of uncertainty linked to US tariffs as it reported a 14% drop in first-quarter revenue to 35.8 billion euros.
