Pocofino Opening at Greenhills Mall

Manila, Philippines — 11 November 2025 — Last Friday, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines, Inc. (ICCPI) proudly supported the opening of Pizzeria Pocofino at Greenhills Mall, San Juan City. The event marked a milestone for Manila’s food scene as Pocofino introduced Metro Manila’s first and only AVPN-certified Neapolitan pizza and fried pizza, led by Chef Matteo Minante, the only AVPN-certified master pizzaiolo in the Philippines and a 2025 50 Top Pizza Asia Pacific awardee.

Recognized by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN) in Naples, Pocofino’s pizzas strictly follow traditional standards. Each dough is made with premium Italian “00” flour fermented for 24 hours, and baked in a wood-fired oven at 485°C to achieve its perfect soft and blistered crust. This certification ensures that every slice served is a reflection of the authenticity and craftsmanship of a true Neapolitan pizza.

The exclusive afternoon event treated guests to an Italian gastronomic experience featuring authentic coffee, freshly baked pizzas and fritas, chocolate gelato, and more, accompanied by a live DJ set and on-the-spot photo prints.

Among the distinguished guests was His Excellency Davide Giglio, Ambassador of Italy to the Philippines, who shared his delight in tasting Chef Minante’s signature pizza in Cebu. In a symbolic gesture of good fortune, Ambassador Giglio also passed the traditional cornetto, a sign of luck, to Chef Matteo Minante and Tuesday Angliongto, Pocofino’s Co-Founder.

For now, Pocofino’s AVPN-certified pizzas are available exclusively at its Greenhills Mall branch, but the team hints at exciting plans to expand its reach soon. True to its name, Pocofino embodies “the power of small, fine things” by turning simple and well-crafted moments into something memorable.
