In today's world, achieving sustainable development demands a holistic approach that balances environmental considerations with economic progress. According to the United Nations Brundtland Commission (1987), sustainability is defined as “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” The looming threat of climate change underscores the urgency of ensuring that current development initiatives do not jeopardize the well-being of future generations.

These 17 integrated goals recognize the interconnectedness of social, economic, and environmental sustainability, acknowledging that progress in one area impacts outcomes in others. Achieving the SDGs requires the collective contributions of creativity, technology, know-how, and financial resources from all sectors of society.
